China's automobile export market maintained a strong growth momentum in 2024. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, from January to September 2024, China's automobile exports reached 4.312 million units, a year-on-year increase of 27.3%. Among them, passenger car exports were 3.633 million units, a year-on-year increase of 28%; commercial vehicle exports were 679,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 23.6%. In terms of fuel drive, traditional fuel vehicles exported 3.384 million units, a year-on-year increase of 32%; new energy vehicles exported 928,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%. Especially in the field of new energy vehicles, China's automobile exports have performed outstandingly. From January to July 2024, China's new energy vehicle exports reached 1.17 million units, a year-on-year increase of 25%, of which new energy passenger vehicles exported 1.14 million units, accounting for 98% of the total new energy vehicle exports. The main destinations for China's automobile exports include Russia, Mexico, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates and Belgium. Among them, Russia ranked first with an export volume of 574,566 vehicles, followed by Mexico and Brazil with exports of 270,900 and 181,663 vehicles respectively.

The growth of China's automobile exports is due to many factors, including the improvement of the competitiveness of Chinese automobile products, the increased recognition of Chinese automobile brands in overseas markets, and the active layout of Chinese auto companies in the international market. Chinese auto companies have not only achieved remarkable results in the field of traditional fuel vehicles, but also demonstrated strong competitiveness in the field of new energy vehicles, especially in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

In addition, the investment and construction of factories by Chinese auto companies around the world have also promoted export growth. For example, in Southeast Asia, BYD, SAIC MG, Great Wall Motors and other companies have built or planned to build factories in Thailand, while in Indonesia, SAIC-GM-Wuling and Nezha Automobile factories have already started production of electric vehicles.

Overall, China's automobile export market continued to maintain a growth trend in 2024, especially in the field of new energy vehicles, the international competitiveness of Chinese automobiles has continued to increase, and export destinations have become more diversified.
